Poetry - :"The Fall"
Students are working on a Poem to describe a theme in the fall.
Possibilities - Outdoors, Thanksgiving Dinner, Halloween, Weather, etc.
Goal:
Get the reader to paint a picture in their minds when reading their poems by using description that
is linked to our senses (sight, hearing, tasting, touch, and smell).
We brainstormed some general descriptive words to help.
some included ( frosty, crunchy, gray, gloomy, cloudy, rainy, wet, cold, damp foggy, cool, crisp, windy, chilly, shiver, muddy)
food related (yummy, warm mouthwatering, soft, sweet, tart, sugary, creamy, squishy, crumbly)
Leaves ( red, yellow, orange, brown purple)
Working on rough drafts, if you have time go over some ideas to help your child with some ideas of how to describe the fall.
Today I shared a poem I wrote to describe the fall as an example.
The poetry is to accompany our fall art below.
